What to Expect When Ordering Bare Root Plants

We hate to be a stick in the mud... but that is basically what it will look like when you order a healthy bare root plant that ships when dormant. Upon opening your shipment, you will find a healthy, sleepy, leafless plant with a full robust moist root system that has been carefully wrapped in saw dust. This helps to prevent the roots from drying out and ensures long-term success of the plant. Grown in soil (not pots), our plants develop strong root systems that quickly outgrow container raised plants due to the well-structured root systems. Bare root plants and cuttings ship dormant during appropriate planting windows. Orders may be held to ensure safe arrival.
